I felt so bad, I offered our guests blankets to cover themselves as they were eating
Our family has always been very hospitable. Jake, my husband, just loves to invite people over to our house and try to help them in any way he can. Although I am an introvert, I do enjoy having friends and family over for food and fellowship on a regular basis. Not really intentionally, we have made a habit of having people over to our house about two nights out of each week. It has given us the opportunity to meet many new people, and to make many lasting friendships that I don’t think we would have if not for my husband’s hospitality. Although we have company very often, I still always get nervous when we have people over for their very first time. I’m not sure why this is, but I know that it’s something that happens every time someone comes over for the first time. To make my nervousness worse, last time we had a family over for the first time, something terrible happened. We were all sitting around the table eating dinner, when we noticed the house was quite chilly. My husband checked the thermostat, and it was set were it always was, but the house was obviously not as warm as the thermostat was set for. After much investigation, we found out that our furnace had actually completely shut down. My husband tried to fix it, but it wasn’t any use. I felt so bad, I offered our guests blankets to cover themselves as they were eating. We all put our coats on, and it was simply a night filled with bad memories. Our guests never complained, and in the end, they said that they really enjoyed themselves, but I will never forget that embarrassing evening.
