Turning off the A/C to Save Energy

I cherish the convenience of living in the inner city.

  • Everything that I need is right around the corner.

I grew up as a country bumpkin. My associate and I lived so far out of neighborhood that it took almost an hour just to get to the grocery store. My associate and I took shopping trips every six months to buy clothes or other non-grocery items. As a child, I didn’t mind living so far out of town, however now that I have a family and an outside job, I am truly happy that I don’t live so far out of the city. Our greatest challenge about living in the neighborhood is the cost. Where my pal and I live, housing is simply outrageous, and my pal and I are always looking for ways to save money. Something that has saved us a lot of money is simply turning off the A/C when my pal and I leave the house. My hubby and I both work outside the home, and all of our children are in school, so there is no need to have the A/C running all day long when no one is home. My associate and I also started turning off the A/C at night while are sleeping, and instead my pal and I just open the windows to stay cool. These two things have saved us more money than my pal and I ever thought they would. Now, my pal and I only use our A/C in the nights and on the weekends. Although A/C is certainly a blessing to have, it isn’t necessary to have it on 24/7. Saving money isn’t self-explanatory, however easy things like this can make a big difference.
