When I know people are coming over, I will turn the AC on for a few hours before guests arrive. This way, the room is cool and I will be able to hide the window unit AC from the guests without having to worry about the room being too warm. I simply put a curtain over the window unit AC and my guests don’t think twice about it. Although there are many pros to having a window unit AC, there are many cons. For example, the window unit AC is very noisy. It is almost impossible to watch a movie if the window unit AC is on. When we have friends over, I always have to make sure that we are having conversations away from the window unit AC because the noise can really ruin the night, especially if you have soft spoken people in your party. The window unit AC is a great thing to have if you live alone or with another person. However if you have guests, the window unit AC can become a stressful thing. I have lived with window unit AC for most of my life, so I am used to the ugly appliance. They really are very ugly to look at. I don’t mind looking at it because I know that it saves me a lot of money on energy costs each month. Sometimes, I wish that I could just set the thermostat and not worry about it anymore. Anyways, there are a lot of ways that you can disguise a window unit AC and it is not that difficult.
