I was still on hold when it occurred to me that I had recently sold my space furnaces at a garage sale, and my friend and I got through the night fine, & as I was waiting for the Heating & A/C worker the next day.
I decided this would be a fantastic time to make a fire in the fireplace.
When was the last time we did this? I couldn’t remember. When we first moved into this apartment 8 years ago, the furnace was unpredictable. My friend and I used the fireplace a lot before we had kids. I started a fire & picked up my preferred book. I began studying next to the crackling fire & realized that I had not stopped & relaxed in a while. I was enjoying the wood burning fire so much that I forgot that our furnace had stopped working. I knew this was something I should not put off & call the Heating & A/C company instantly. I was enjoying my time by the fire & the book I was studying was a real page turner. I didn’t know how long I had until the kids woke up, even though I didn’t care. One more night of no heat would not kill us. My friend and I had the space furnaces that we frantically purchased the night before. To be honest, I didn’t feel they were even necessary. I have constantly been a fan of cozy blankets & pillows & the chill in the air was the perfect excuse to bundle up on the sofa next to the wood burning fireplace. My friend and I made the best out of the furnace chopping, & I feel it was just the break we needed.
