He arrived within fifteen minutes. He confirmed that the pipes were frozen. It was a huge relief when he was able to solve the problem within a couple of hours. We were very lucky that none of the pipes burst. The plumber explained the need to tighten up the basement and add insulation due to the extreme cold that is a regular part of winters in the local area. He suggested caulking around the windows and doors, filling up any cracks with foam insulation and investing into a basement heater.
